Steel containers left excessive residue from high-value ointments, required intensive cleaning, and complicated internal transport from production facilities through quarantine storage to packaging lines.

Flexible Fluid-Bags replaced rigid containers for discharging bulk formulation for further internal transport from production through quarantine storage to filling and packaging lines.
The system allows an easy discharge of batches in transportable Fluid-Bags while having a minimized risk for product contamination. Thanks to eleven automatic Discharge Rollers, packaging lines can ensure near-complete extraction from each 1000-liter bag (264 US gal).
Protected transport
Fluid-Bags allow the movement of bulk formulations from state-of-the-art production facilities to storage rooms, maintaining closed-system integrity throughout the quarantine period.
Integrated automation
The automatic Discharge Rollers communicate directly with filling stations, precisely controlling ointment flow and running until the bags are empty.
Resource efficiency
The automated system enables efficient container changeovers, while eliminating wastewater generation. This aligns with the center’s commitment to resource-saving, innovative processes.
The output
Bayer achieves nearly complete product extraction of their valuable semisolids while eliminating the need for container cleaning. The integrated system maintains pharmaceutical standards from production through final tube filling and global distribution.
